• Fridge Brilliance: Rhodes was Cinder's mentor, who had an ability quite similar to Colossus. His name is likely based on the Colossus of Rhodes, which, while technically being a statue of the Sun God Helios, is also associated with Apollo due to his association with the sun and light. Apollo also happened to be the one who guided the arrow that killed Achilles - and Rhodes, in training Cinder, was the one who indirectly guided her to kill Pyrrha. It can also be a reference to Rhodopis, the earliest version of the "Cinderella" story. Rhodopis was an enslaved Greek girl who eventually married the Egyptian king.
