• Ensemble Dark Horse: Shirai was intended to simply be a minor character to explain where Izuku got a sequence for a Healing Quirk, but she proved very popular upon introduction, namely thanks to her kind demeanor. LordCrusade noticed this and, after realizing how much they like writing her, decided to elevate her to the supporting cast.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The idea of Quirks having "Sequences" that Izuku can obtain and ingest to use with his own Quirk would end up getting unintentionally validated in canon years later, specifically with the reveal of the "Quirk Factor" that allows someone to have a Quirk, and that both All For One and One For All involve the use of Quirk Factors. Namely that All For One steals the Quirk Factor to steal people's Quirks, and that One For All merges with the Quirk Factors of the wielder, giving Izuku access to six additional Quirks.
• I Knew It!: Pretty much everyone called the reason Calcium Reinforcement failed was because of Aizawa erasing it.
• Squick: After Izuku blows up the Nomu's brain, and his own hands in the process, a detailed description is given of the brain trying to regenerate but being unable to due to the charred grey-matter. What's more, a bit of the Nomu's blood leaks out of his brain, right into Izuku's mouth.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: While her anger can be considered understandable thanks to the high stress situation and watching Thirteen almost die, most readers still express frustration at Ochako's lashing out at Izuku upon learning his real Quirk, both because her argument could be applied to any classmate who didn't go all out with their Quirk and isn't something Izuku should get yelled at for, and because they're well aware that not only did Izuku try to do something, but none of his Quirks would have made a difference.
