• Questionable Casting: For some bizarre reason, the filmmakers decided to get an orangutan to play as link, despite the fact the character is supposed to be a chimpanzee, even though orangutans and chimps look virtually nothing alike, even if you dye the formers' fur black and them a fake pair of ears. The fact that they already had actual chimps in the movie only makes this casting decision all the more baffling and ridiculous.
• Nightmare Retardant: The idea of a chimpanzee (or rather, an orangutan poorly disguised as one with black dyed fur and fake ears), dressed in a butler outfit and going around killing people, is more likely to garner laughs from the audience, rather than scares.
• Special Effect Failure: As already mentioned above, the eponymous Link is supposed to be a chimpanzee, but is played by an orangutan, whose fur is shaved shorter and dyed black and is given prosthetic ears to make him look more like a chimp. Unfortunately, anyone with an inkling of intelligence can easily tell the two species apart, based on their faces alone.
