• He Panned It, Now He Sucks!: Mark is no stranger to backlash to his negative opinions, to the point it’s a reoccuring joke on his channel.
  • Him not liking Phineas and Ferb: Candace Against The Universe was met with some backlash, especially since Schaffrillas Productions would shortly after post a positive review on the film. The latter tweeted that it doesn’t matter if someone else didn’t like it and to just form your own opinion on the film.
  • He was also met with backlash in his "The Mitchells vs. the Machines" review. The fact that he didn’t like the film was unpopular but in particular fans disagreed with him saying that Katie was unlikeable and not giving her dad a fair chance, especially since she still gets to go to her film school she just has to take a road trip in the family car instead of a plane, which Mark compared to A Goofy Movie where Max had to miss going to a party with Roxanne after finally getting her attention and working up the courage to ask her out. Viewers argued back that Rick was more in the wrong since he, while well meaning and sympathetic, never showed interest or faith in Katie's films, (accidentally) broke her laptop, and by cancelling her plane ticket and making her go on a road trip she had to miss orientation week at college - a one time event that’s not comparable to a date that could easily be rescheduled- where she would’ve gotten to have fun with her new friends - a detail that Mark admitted in later videos he forgot about and that it was a valid reason to be upset.
  • Mark was met with negative reception and heavy disagreement when he negatively compared Hazbin Hotel's humor to Ted (2024), due to the former relying too much on swearing to the point many lined feel interchangeable between characters.
