• Accidental Aesop: Some things about how American businesses are run have dire consequences, even beyond monopolies ruining lives. Hank losing his job inadvertently puts him in the vicinity of the explosion, and Buckley loses his life because he wasn't fired for doing something extremely dangerous (or at least because he wasn't trained properly). Hank, Luanne, and Chuck Mangionne almost lose their lives and grapple with PTSD for a whole episode as a result.
• Anvilicious: Corporations suck. If the big banner and the music towards the end of the episode didn't clue you in, nothing will.
• Crosses the Line Twice: The Mega Lo Mart explodes with Hank, Luanne, and Buckley inside as the citizens of Arlen run scream and look on in horror. Absolutely mortifying. But it's Boomhauer who calls 911, and of course the operator can't understand a word he says.
