YMMV / From A Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi

  • Salvaged Story: Due to the atrocities he committed as Vader, many viewers have questioned if Anakin actually deserved his redemption from just one last noble act. The short story "Brotherhood" addresses this, with Anakin truly seeking to atone for his mistakes, all while acknowledging each of it to Obi-Wan in the afterlife. In response, Obi-Wan mentors Anakin to properly deal with said issues, even telling him (and by extension, the readers) not to Accentuate the Negative.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The Empire interacting with the many denizens of Endor besides Ewoks (Duloks, Wisties, Sanassyans, Goraxes, Phlogs, Gupins, Teeks, Gorphs, Yuzzums, Jindas, Dandelion Warriors, Skandits, Fleebogs, Zombas, Skibs, Quarfs, the Gruddak, Octucors, Hanadaks, Boar Wolves, the Beast Beneath the Mountain, the Gonster, King Elbo, etc.) could have been interestingnote , but the Ewoks are the only Endor species that the garrison is described as either harming or being harmed by.
    • On what could be considered an inverted case of the usual wishes of fans, the character Jess could have been retconned into a similar looking, but unnamed, character in issue 9 of the Aphra comic series, which a different author of FACPOV had written.
    • Two more: 1, this book didn't delve into Rex possibly being Nik Sant; 2, the Author of Jess' tale chose not to make Mara Jade's alter ego (Arica) into Damaris Veill.
