• Harsher in Hindsight: Two examples, both cruel to Fluttershy.
  • Word of God indicates that the author includes Bad Horse's "Fluttershy's Night Out" in his Fluttershy fanon. He did so after writing this fanfic. Fluttershy thinks this about her mother, but if the events of "Fluttershy's Night Out" have happened to her, then Fluttershy could also be criticizing herself. Poor Fluttershy.
  There she had an unexpected encounter. It had not been her old coltfriend, of that she was quickly certain, yet somehow she thought it was. And she had lain with him on the top of the old hill, between the standing stones; lain in adultery with a strange stallion chance-met in a wild place. Romantic, and deeply-unhinged, indeed.
  • Since Jordan 179 also wrote "Why I Cannot Believe in a Free-Love Equestria" which argues that Equestria is probably sexually-conservative relative to the 21st-century West, it is very likely that the events of "Fluttershy's Night Out" were even more upsetting to Fluttershy than they would appear from our own POV.
