- Nightmare Fuel:
- The scene where future Scrooge shoots and kills Sam is initially frozen in time long enough for what's about to happen to sink in, as present-day Scrooge begs for something to stop it.
- The scene of future Scrooge's death is disturbingly realistic with how he flips over the banister and hits the floor, dying on impact.
- Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: One complaint reviewers such as Jim Hill made is that this Scrooge is so monstrous it's almost impossible to believe he can be reformed, and as a result you don't care about his journey or see his reformation as an Ass Pull.
