• Alternative Character Interpretation: Was Sharkey permanently redeemed by the Pearl, or did he get a tempoary epyphany, which will only stick depending on his future choices? Given that Scrooge received an apyphany about how the Pearl belonged to the natives but in later episodes didn't seem to have the same problem when collecting artifacts from other civilizations, it's possible that he only got a momentary Heel Realization, though given that Sharkey had previously demonstrated regret about his life as a thug and realized that it wasn't really worth all that, it's possible that he'll carry on with his Heel–Face Turn.

  • The piece of wisdom Pete receives is "stealing is bad".
  • Scrooge's wisdom is "this does not belong to you, give it back to the islanders".
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Sharkey, an Expy of Peg-Leg Pete, gets a ticker for parking in a no-parking zone after bragging about how the law can never catch him. Comes "Duck in the Iron Mask" with another Pete lookalike, who serves as a corrupt lawman who, among other things, arrests the heroes for parking in a no-parking zone.
