  • Epic Riff: "Suburban Home", "Myage", "Statue of Liberty", "Cameage", "When I Get Old" among many.
  • First Installment Wins: Their debut LP Milo Goes to College is easily their most popular and acclaimed album.
  • Values Dissonance: Songs such as "Hope" and "I'm The One" have aged pretty badly in the post-third wave feminism world, having lyrics that sound like rants of an incel or Dogged Nice Guy. However, the former song was meant originally as an Anti-Love Song simply because few bands explored negative emotions related to love.
  • Vindicated by History: Descendents were well known in their scene, but didn't catch on as big as their contemporaries did, and their albums weren't big sellers (Drummer Bill Stevenson even said that the first All album sold better than any Descendents one at that point). Over the years though, the band's legacy began to grow, especially as being a big influence on the Pop Punk boom of The '90s, and most of their later reunion releases have been more successful as a result.
