• Alternative Character Interpretation:
  • Is Phil a Nice Guy who people just don’t understand, or is he a Manipulative Bastard? Well, this’ll be answered, but not yet.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Phil. He was originally meant to be seen as a Nice Guy and a good leader, but most other roleplayers (and characters) see him as somewhat manipulative and insensitive. And then there’s the part where he leaves Kokichi to die because he “doesn’t like the other students hating on him”. Kokichi survives only because even Monoswitch was shocked at the callous action.
  • However, on the other hand, Kokichi isn’t entirely an innocent victim, either. Even if it doesn’t even come close to justifying what Phil was going to let Monoswitch do, Kokichi frequently expresses open distrust of him for no good reason other than the fact that he finds the way his friends talk about him somewhat creepy.
