• First Installment Wins: While most of their material is quite well liked, Focus seems to be by a wide margin their most beloved record.
• Follow the Leader: the music of Promoted Fanboys Tymon and Robin (Exivious) and Max (Exist) have a very similar sound to Focus era Cynic. Exist is much Darker and Edgier and Exivious is completely instrumental.
• Signature Song: "Veil of Maya"
• Woobie: Whenever Paul talks about his life as a young adult, or the time surrounding Chuck Shuldiner's death. It's pretty clear that he had a very troubled life when he was in his early-mid 20s and that Chuck's passing really did affect him a lot.
