• Ass Pull: Fans who were annoyed by the episode largely in thanks to Richardson, really didn't take too kindly to the ending with him getting amnesia and forgetting the teams' identities, thus rendering the entire episode completely pointless.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
  • Fans were pretty livid over Richardson being the seventh member. Other possible contenders included, Karmi, Abigail Callaghan, Professor Granville, Robert Callaghan and oddly enough, Tadashi himself.
  • In a more general sense, people expected that an episode named "Big Hero 7," which most fans expect to be the title of a film sequel to Big Hero 6, would be plot relevant, and were disappointed to find it was Filler.
