• Character Rerailment: After the horrible treatment Cordelia got in season four, this was viewed as a return to the persona that the fans fell in love with - while keeping her Character Development intact.
  "Cordelia exits the series needed, loved and wanted. And with her last breath says "you're welcome" because she knows her worth."
• Harsher in Hindsight: This is truly the last time we see the Angel gang all together in the one episode. And not just because Cordelia exits the series here; three episodes later, Fred will follow her!
  • Cordelia's sendoff in general. While her storyline needed closure (especially after the previous Season), we know now that Charisma Carpenter was approached in bad faith and brought back under false pretenses (having been promised Cordy wouldn't be killed off and learning the truth only after she'd signed on). With Carpenter's recent allegations about Whedon's abusive behavior during Season Four, it also raises the question of just how much, if any, of Cordy's death was motivated by petty spite and one last parting shot from Whedon.
• Take That, Scrappy!: A couple directed at Eve. Harmony slaps her to get information out of her, and Cordelia refers to her as "Lilah Jr".
• Win Back the Crowd: This helped redeem Season 5 in the eyes of fans who didn't like the standalone nature of the episodes. The next half of the season was better received.
