• Unintentional Period Piece: The manual telephone exchange, manned by unseen character Beverley, who was the switchboard operator from hell at times and quite the eavesdropper. Halfway through Season 12 (1992), an automatic phone exchange was installed in Wandin Valley with direct dial phones, so Beverley was made redundant, but was redeployed as a taxi driver.
