T.U.F.F. Puppy

What Could Have Been in this series.
  • All sketches with Dudley, some of which date back to 2005, prior to the pitching of the show, showed Dudley in a more serious concept. Dudley was depicted as a more muscular and embittered stubbled dog and was much older than his final version, as well as carrying a real pistol compared to the blasters in the final version. Dudley also occasionally sported a formidable spiked collar, which even lasted for some time after pitching. Butch also described an early version of Dudley as Jack Burton from Big Trouble in Little China: a cocky and confident dog who thinks he can do anything, but really can't. Butch later found the character complicated and decided to make Dudley a more energetic dog who loves to beat the bad guys.
  • Dudley's name was originally supposed to be Dudley Dog, before the last name was changed to Puppy.
  • Eric Bauza was originally going to voice Dudley Puppy, but the producers felt that Bauza wasn't right for the character, so they chose Jerry Trainor instead.
  • T.U.F.F. Mobile was supposed to be slightly different from the final version: the design was clearly similar to the design of the Sunbeam Tiger car that was in Get Smart, which the show was inspired by, but slightly more futuristic. In addition, T.U.F.F. Mobile had the ability to speak in the voice of an old male British Professor and Dudley would unsuccessfully try to make it sound like "a hot babe who loves volleyball". While T.U.F.F. Mobile's ability to speak didn't make it to the final version, the episode "Doom-mates" may have a slight hint of it in the scene where The Chameleon speaks with Dudley and Kitty via the stereo display, before revealing himself.
  • A blog for an artist who worked on the show posted some characters designs that he drew, apparently Kitty was going to have lighter fur, wear a pink trench coat with matching boots & headband as opposed to the teal coat & pants and white headband and boots she wears.
  • Butch revealed on his TikTok account that "there were big plans for Bad Dog never made in one episode". This possibly hints that Bad Dog was planned as a major villain for the whole episode, however, for unknown reasons, this did not happen.
  • The crew originally planned to make a character named Charlie Sheep (a parody of Charlie Sheen), but he was scrapped because, according to Butch, it could date the show.
  • Gordon Hammond shared a sketch of the character named Agent Mouse, which was supposed to have a very thick Russian accent, but later was scrapped, because, according to Gordon, they ended up taking a totally different direction.
  • "Cruisin' for a Bruisin'":
    • In the scene where Dudley turns the ship to avoid hitting an iceberg, there should have been a cameo by Cosmo and Wanda (in the form of goldfish in an aquarium) in Kitty's room, who are awakened by the strong turning of the ship.
    • In a deleted scene, Snaptrap mentions Agent Porcupine for a joke.
  • "Dog Daze" had a cut scene explaining Keswick's disappearance in the Pavilion of Pie in the final cut. In it, Keswick leaves to get himself a funnel cake, after making sarcastic remarks.
  • "Soar Loser" had a completely deleted scene where Dudley and Kitty are stuck in traffic in the middle of town on their way to the Skatebird factory. Later in this scene, Dudley uses the T.U.F.F. Mobile computer to listen to another “Criminal Record” of Bird Brain. Most likely, the scene was deleted due to the fact that T.U.F.F. Mobile can fly, which made this scene pointless.
  • Ugh from the episode “Flower Power” originally looked more annoyed and angry.
