Fade To White is a webcomic co-created by Desklang
and SimplyRei that loosely follows the first game's storyline, and will eventually cover the following games—except Shadowside.
The comic is set in an AU in which both Nate and Katie obtained a yo-kai watch at a particular bad point in time, for McKraken, with his anti-human propaganda, is in power—and he's not afraid to kill any obstacles in his way.

Yo-kai Watch: Fade To White provides examples of:
- Ascended Extra: Most noticeably Lucas, who actually is a recurring character instead of coming in scene as a plot device on the last quest, but plenty of charcaters get far more portagonism than they did in either the games or the anime.
- Break the Cutie: Nate's cheerful enough in canon, but in the comic he's suffered through one assasination attempt too many to be content with his state of existence at the moment.
- Nate: I regret existing.
- The Bus Came Back: Mac and Yuto will come into the comic at some point
- The Nicknamer: Pinkypoo nicknames people after types of sweets-Mary Jane, Gummy Bear, Red Hot, Fruit Gusher, Goodbar... and then there's Sugar Daddy.
