Go To

The two Schmuels in "The Schmuel Song" are the same person.
The clock literally turned time back, and Schmuel became 41 years younger. He then proceeded to travel to Odessa and fall in love with a girl there.
  • I always assumed this is the interpretation you're supposed to take. Is there another one that's 'official'?
Jamie is in bed with a man during "Nobody Needs to Know".
He only calls the person "kid".
  • Isn't it implied that the person he slept with is Elise his editor
Film!Jamie's fame is causing him to hallucinate.
Think about it: why else would the receptionist suddenly decide to only show up to work in her bra? Or why Cathy is in the room with Jamie as he sings "Nobody Needs to Know"?
Jamie is the grown-up version of Jason from Falsettos
His messed-up childhood turned him into an adult with skewed ideas of how to treat women and a complex about his Jewish heritage.
Jamie decides to write about his marriage in his latest book.
It’s about a composer named Jason Robert Brown and his failed marriage with actress Theresa O’Neill. His story is told normally while hers is told in reverse chronological order, with them being the only characters present, allowing the readers to piece together how their marriage came together and fell apart, and just who was at fault.
  • And then Cathy sues him for it.
