Hunter allowed himself to be arrested at the end, because he felt extreme guilt over injuring Moose.

When the police came over to Hunter's house and discovered the corpse of his maid (who was accidentally killed by Moose earlier on in the film), Hunter doesn't explain his side of the story and allows himself to be arrested. It seems like a very bizarre thing for Hunter to do, until one remembers earlier in the film, after Hunter shoots off Moose's fingers and stabs his left eye, Hunter is noticeably horrified by what he did to Moose and shows remorse by wrapping his hand in a bandage, this could also explain why he doesn't tell the police what Moose did, because he felt such extreme guilt and horror over what he did to Moose, and Hunter felt he deserved to go to jail for what he did to him, and he also didn't want the police to go after Moose, so he decides to cover for him as a way of atoning for brutally hurting Moose.
