People resurrected by Borg technology cannot have any memory of the afterlife.
Otherwise Borg would try to assimilate also the afterlife, too. Compare with the episode Unimatrix Zero.
  • It is strange there are no fanfictions about this possibility.
  • Alternatively, in a call back to Star Trek III: The Search for Spock/Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, it may be that the brain just isn't capable of consciously processing whatever exists beyond death, much like how Spock said he couldn't discuss what he experienced while dead 'without a common frame of reference'.
  • There has been a long debate about whether or not the Spock brought back in the films was the REAL Spock, or merely a memory implant(plausible, as Spock placed his katra into McCoy yet managed to function afterwards) placed into the reborn & restored body. This episode even alludes to that debate, with Neelix wondering if the REAL Neelix did go to the afterlife & he's merely a reanimated corpse with old memories intact. The franchise has also been extremely vague on whether or not the afterlife even exists or if it's been myth & a few hallucinations from injured people. Probably not helped much by Gene Roddenberry being an atheist(in fact he believed "enlightened" humans of the future would reject such ideas).
