The spider woman in "And The Raven Brought Fire" is Sussistanako.
Also known as the "Spider Grandmother", she is said in certain myths to have spun a web that she laced with dew and turned into the stars. In her sole appearance so far, one of the key points we see is her by a web shown against the sky with "shines" on it; possibly reflecting off the water.

Tlaloc's spells are related to the Tezcatlipoca
Since Tlaloc is a figure strongly related to the Tezcatlipoca mirror, and both have 4 powers related to them, the true wielders of each Tezcatlipoca power are also the wielders of Tlaloc's spells.

The Blue Tezcatlipoca is the Liberty Machete. In the Judgment comic, Ichabod mentions that he thinks that if anyone should be able to wield the Blue Tezcatlipoca, it's Calamity. What's the reason Calamity obtained the tuning fork? She wanted to free herself and her brother from the thirst they were suffering from in the desert. Calamity also uses the water spell casually to move around quickly.

The Red Tezcatlipoca is the Judgment Scythe. I think this power could fit Ichabod. He is the one who is always quick to decide that something sounds ominous, so he's got the personality for the power of Judgment. Furthermore, Murder, the previous wielder of the Tezcatlipoca was also a bird, drawing some nice paralells. The power of the Red Tezcatlipoca, lightning, also calls to mind the way gods in mythology would smite mortals with lightning.

The White Tezcatlipoca is the Mercy Bow. Huehuecoyotl is definitely a merciful character. He may be mischievous, but ultimately he just wants to be friends with everyone, even the villains. It's a bit more nebulous how the power of Mercy relates to Finding Things, but it is interesting how the spell is much less violent than Icky or Calamity's spells.

The Black Tezcatlipoca is related to Peace, but not much else is known about it, much like how the last spell keeps evading our protagonists' grasp. Considering it was mentioned that a human could be the wielder too, and Charles seems to be the wielder of the black Tezcatlipoca, he might end up being the wielder of the final Spell if this pattern is followed.

  • Of course, Xipe Totec wields the Scythe (despite being sealed) and in Brother Swan Byrdi wields the Machete, so I wouldn't cleave too closely to this pattern.
  • And now Kitty has taken up the Red Tezcatlipoca by berating it, something she seems to do fairly often.

Angel/Ozma Angeline is Mictēcacihuātl, the "Lady of the Dead".

While the reference to the Wizard of Oz is clear, with her name being Ozma, it fits.

She lives in Mictlan Woods, which is named after the place where Mictēcacihuātl is said to reign with her husband in the myths. Her patchwork body indicates she is undead, or at least not fully alive (perhaps even covering her body with new flesh since Mictēcacihuātl's body was traditionally defleshed. She also appears to have some measure of control over the skeletons, flying skulls, and Brom Bones, and cares for all of them; as Mictēcacihuātl is able to control the dead and is said to watch over them.

Her desire to see Charles have a mother may even be a reference to her own origins. As many legends indicate that Mictēcacihuātl was sacrificed as an infant before becoming Queen of the Underworld. So she may wish to see a seemingly lost and misguided like Charles get a good parental figure like she never had.

Scourosi is actually Earth After the End.

Scourosi is a Lost Colony
Betsy-Lee's webcomic Brother Swan takes place a considerable time after No Evil and features multiple planets populated by humans and Human Subspecies, though Scourosi still seems to lack space travel (aside from the anti-magic city wrenched into orbit by a crazy elf). The local spirits may have been influenced by the myths and folklore carried by colonists from the North American countries.

Charles is related to both of the leaders of McCoy and Hatfield
in Banashing Babies it's established that he is the result of parents from both towns, and both towns are rather small making the probability of being related rather high.
