The stone statues are prince's companions
This WMG I have to thank for to my father. He immediately said this when he saw them. We don't know what happened to them. And statues look quite similar to them. Prince's fae wife also turns to stone, so we can guess that is Pan's modus operandi.
- This troper felt this was also readibly apparent. We are given ample view that something is going to go wrong with the hunting party, to which there are three components. The Prince, the men and the dogs. The three components that were cursed in this version. The fact one growls when the rose is picked helps cement that they are his men/guards.
