The Relationship between Chloe and Clair
Chole and Clair are two halves of one whole person.
The duality motifs are strong with these two. To name a few; they both have similar appearances, names, both have their opposite eye opened of the other, one's a angel and the other is a devil. Like- come on folks! All of the evidence literally points towards this, but there hasn't been any explicit confirmation yet. The Previous Islands
The previous islands are failed attempts to have Chloe process her emotions properly, hence why they're abandoned.
The pervious islands have certain pieces missing from them because they're used for their next successor.
Because creating whole functional mental islands from scratch is hard work for one person, so why not cut some corners and just use some pieces from the previous iterations. Oh, and have a stairway leading to it for the ease of transportation. Other
Clair has the ability to draw things into reality.
It's implied so far, but when Clair says she'll draw up a permit, she quite literally means it. It also explains why she only stores drawings of things in her cabinets, so that she can pull them into reality later if needed. Clair knows more than she lets on, but not on everything.
While some fans do see her as a manipulative mastermind behind everything in the series, it's true to some extent. Ultimately, she's just as broken as anyone else, Clair just wants to be the one who helps Chloe, and she's willing to manipulate things into her favor (though she might just suck ass it).
