Rowena killed Soren to seal the gate at the end of season 1.
- Rowena is shown to be bound to Soren's "murderous" dagger at the beginning of Season 2. It's not confirmed whether the dagger works under a You Kill It, You Bought It principle, but given that it otherwise always comes back to its owner, it seems likely that Rowena either was the first one to pick it up after Soren died or used it to kill him.
- By the end of the last session of season one, the party had taken heavy sanity damage, meaning that at least some of the narration was likely unreliable (which would explain why Soren woke up not quite dead at the beginning of season two despite Travis claiming to have resurrected him on the spot). Since Rowena and Father Westpike seem to think that Soren is still alive when he was clearly shown to not be, it would make sense if the ending of season 1 was unreliable narration. If the memory of Soren's resurrection is inaccurate, who's to say that the memory of his self-sacrifice isn't?
- Narration in the first party B episode of season 2 describes Soren as having multiple stab wounds. At the end of season 1, he is described as stabbing himself once, while in his memory of being murdered by Rowena, she's described as stabbing him three times. The wounds seem to line up with the second story.
