Nancy was in a coma at the end of the film.
- Nancy never woke up after she fell asleep to get Freddy and is still dreaming for the rest of the movie. We never see Nancy in a position where she was likely to fall asleep after she seemingly defeated Freddy, yet her mother was killed by Freddy at the end of the film in what could have only been a dream. Everything that appeared to have happened, from Nancy and Quentin fighting Freddy in the "real" world to her mother's murder, was a part of Nancy's dream and was just Freddy messing with her. Freddy succeeded in his goal and Nancy will never wake up again; She's stuck in a coma with him forever, to be used as he pleases.
Freddy really was innocent.
- This was from a comment in Dead Meat's video about the remake, and it stated that the marks Freddy supposedly put on the kids were actually scars from them playing too rough. They then decided to blame it on Freddy, causing him to be killed. He would later return to get his revenge on the kids for lying, making him an actual Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds.
