''Splatoon 2'' is the direct sequel to the ThirdPersonShooter ''VideoGame/Splatoon1''. After being teased at the end of the UsefulNotes/NintendoSwitch reveal trailer, the game was officially revealed months later during the January 2017 Nintendo Switch Presentation. A Global Testfire demo was held the weekend of March 24-26, 2017, while an early Splatfest was held July 15, 2017. The game was released worldwide on July 21, 2017.
