The Service Weapon

Jesse Faden finds herself unexpectedly participating in a test of her worthiness to become the new Director of the Federal Bureau of Control - by being nudged into picking up the ex-director's Service Weapon and plunged into the Astral Plane, with the warning that failing will result in the weapon blowing her head off.
