At this stage in his career, Ferrer had gone nearly bankrupt due to a series of bad investments and was taking any offers of work that came his way. Reggie Nalder admitted that he and other costars felt "embarrassed" for Ferrer having to appear in the movie, though he was never less than professional on the set.
