• Actor-Inspired Element: Brian Baumgartner (Kevin) recruited Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who's a friend of his, to be a judge for America's Next A Capella Sensation.
• Throw It In!: The child actor playing Philip was only supposed to choose the beet when Dwight gave him the choice between the beet and the million dollar check, but he actually said "beet" as well, which made it into the episode.
• What Could Have Been: The script originally had some lines that Lampshaded the discrepancy between Angela confirming that Philip is Dwight's son here and the DNA test from "Free Family Portrait Studio" and "New Guys" coming up negative, essentially suggesting that Dwight had taken the wrong diaper, but it was decided that people who weren't familiar with that arc would be confused, so they dropped them.
