Trivia / The Nation of Domination

Go To

  • Breakup Breakout: While D'Lo and Godfather did great and Henry would ultimately subvert this more than a decade later, there is no question that The Rock came out of the Nation the big winner for a very long time.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: The Rock's takeover of course happened because he was the second most popular wrestler in the WWF (only behind future arch-rival "Stone Cold" Steve Austin) and easily the most over member of The Nation. The Nation's slight retool under his "leadership" had to do with the fact The Rock was familiar with both the original USWA (having even been in the USWA as "Flex Kavana") and early WWF version of the stable and didn't particularly like that it became hard to interpret as anything other than a group of black supremacists.
  • Star-Making Role: It was his heel turn to join the Nation that turned the floundering babyface Rocky Maivia into "The Rock", who would go on to become one of the biggest stars in wrestling history, which he would later parlay into become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood history.
