- Follow the Leader: The series began airing a year after the hit show Broadchurch, which features a somewhat similar premise: a family having to deal with the murder/disappearance of their young son, whilst the police struggle to find the culprit. Some reviewers actually believe The Missing to be the superior show, though of course, YMMV.
