- The Merch: the series has generated marketing spin-offs, partly to spread The Word but mainly to defray the costs of production. As well as books and media to spread the series, there are clothing lines. One has the interesting title of "Binge Jesus", a logo appearing on clothing sold as a tie-in. It's meant as a sort of visual pun, that if you've binge-watched "The Chosen" then come and binge on Jesus, as you can never have too much of Him. The problem is that other countries interpret the word "binge" differently. In Britain, for instance, "Binge Jesus" suggests a Saviour with a fondness for pubs and serious boozing. After all, did he not turn water into wine and was human enough to like a drink?
- Another clothing logo is the Bible quote "Come And See". The show's producers mean this as "Come and see our show!" and - presumably - link it to John 1:39 - Jesus said, "Come and See. Unfortunately, there is possibly a better-known Bible reference for this quote: Revelation 6:1 - 7, when the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are gathering. War, Famine and Pestilence invite Death to come and join them with the words - yes - "Come And See!" note . A black T-shirt with this logo might well find a market - just not the one the producers intended.
