- It was The Great Sasuke who was going to sign up with WWF, not TAKA, until they decided TAKA was more marketable than the masked, more bizarre-looking Sasuke. Depending on how you ask, either the company had settled on this before any booking and only brought in Sasuke for a couple matches against TAKA as a compensation, or the reverse was true and only after the matches they decided to cut Sasuke and retain TAKA instead. In any case, Sasuke was apparently so infuriated by TAKA ending up in WWF instead of himself that he didn't talk to him in years.
- According to interviews with TAKA, WWF and later WWE offered him several chances to return through the years, but he declined due to his schedule in Japan.
