• Deleted Scene: Two gags that were only ever storyboarded.
  • A man named fate bringing the Hipster and Mary together.
  • The judge giving the Hipster life (imprisonment), as represented by handing him a copy of Life Magazine.
• No Budget: As mentioned on the main page, MGM had the foresight to no longer invest in theatrical cartoons, and started slashing budgets for their animated shorts around this time. Tex Avery made up for this by using only a few poses with strong silhouettes, a practice still used in low-budget cartoons to this day.
• What Could Have Been: Or rather, what could not have been. Producer Fred Quimby was reluctant to let the cartoon go into production, thinking the concept was too ridiculous. Tex Avery claimed that he had nothing else to produce, so it was either this or they had to close the unit, and the rest is history.
