• Deleted Scene: Following Michael Burnham's killing herself, Lorca, Sylvia Tilly and Paul Stamets discuss this having been her plan in order to get Harry Mudd to reset time. Lorca and Tilly note that if it works, they'll never know, though Stamets says that he will. They count down how much time is remaining before it will no longer be possible for Mudd to reset time. The scene ends as in the broadcast episode, with Mudd resetting time.
• Genius Bonus: The episode title is a quotation from The Iliad (Robert Fagles' translation), referring to Aphrodite's belt, a love charm with power over nearly any entity, even Zeus. It can also be translated "magic that steals away the wits even of the wise."
