Trivia / She's a Good Skate, Charlie Brown

Go To

  • Serendipity Writes the Plot: According to producer Lee Mendelson, Woodstock's whistling scene came about because professional whistler Jason Serinus called Mendelson out of the blue to volunteer his services for a Peanuts special, and when Mendelson, Charles M. Schulz and Bill MelĂ©ndez started plotting out this special, they realized that Woodstock whistling opera would make a memorable climax, and brought Serinus in to do it.
  • Technology Marches On: When Peppermint Patty's turn during the competition comes, the cassette player breaks thus preventing the recording from playing and jeopardizing Patty's chances of performing. Had the special taken place in the 90's or early 2000's, CD's would have been used for the songs, though if the CD had been scratched, playback still would have been an issue. Nowadays, one could have just selected the song from a music library on their laptop, tablet or phone to play the song without trouble.
  • Working Title: The working title for this special was "She's a Winner, Charlie Brown"
