• Working Title: The series was originally announced as Drag Race Australia, a show that would be filmed in Australia but would also include contestants from New Zealand (in the same way that Drag Race Thailand and Drag Race Germany include contestants from elsewhere). Season one, filmed during lockdowns for the COVID-19 Pandemic, moved production to New Zealand and the title was then changed to the more accurate Drag Race Down Under.
