- What Could Have Been: The earliest teaser trailer of the game, by then known as Quarantine instead of Extraction, showed the POV character with some kind of Chimeran parasite infection going up the length of his forearm before being rescued by Ela and Vigil, which would imply a wide-scale quarantine break like Operation Outbreak. When the game was refined into its current state, the Chimeran parasite is specifically stated to no longer be infesting human hosts, and said infection has been shelved as a gameplay mechanic since Archæans now either capture or attempt to kill live humans than parasitizing them.
