• Blooper: There are three instances where Japanese voice acting can be heard in the English dub. Ash's yell when Pikachu shocks him in the beginning of the episode is left undubbed, along with Jessie shrieking when she runs around with her hair on fire. The ghost trio's Japanese laughter can also be heard overlapping their English voices after they chase Ash and friends out of the dining hall.
• Distanced from Current Events: The episode was temporarily banned in the U.S. after the 9/11 terrorist attacks due to its title. The amount of violence and concern that it makes being dead or unconscious look potentially appealing because of Ash having fun as a ghost might not have helped. The ban was lifted after the anime Channel Hopped to Cartoon Network.
