Trivia / Peony in Love

• Development Hell: In 2010, a film adaptation was greenlit with the screenplay set to be written by Erin Cressida Wilson. Since it's been over a decade and no more news came out after this announcement, its very safe to assume that the project was permanently shelved.
• Inspiration for the Work: In 2000, while researching an article for Vogue, See stumbled on the lovesick maidens and- later- The Three Wives' Commentary, a book that included commentary on The Peony Pavilion from three different women who shared a husband (not at the same time, mind). The history behind the book and its creation lead to Peony in Love's own existence.
