• Enforced Method Acting: Pee-Wee expresses real frustration when he scolds the Playhouse Gang for getting rough in the playhouse since the child actors playing them were INDEED doing just that when the cameras weren't rolling. Anyone familiar with the circumstances surrounding the production of the show's first season could have guessed that this wasn't helping out Paul Reubens or any of the production staff.
• Never Work with Children or Animals: It also seemed Reubens had enough of the child actors after this episode wrapped up because he would eventually let go of them from the show. This, alongside the show's move to California, explains why a different set of children takes on the roles of the Playhouse Gang.
