• Author's Saving Throw: After the controversy from various LGBT advocacy groups decrying the focus put on "ex-gay" groups like Exodus International in the episode "Pray the Gay Away?", Ling held a reunion special for the subjects to expand on the premise, with Exodus' founder Alan Chambers, in particular, receiving some harsh words from a former friend. Opinions also softened a bit more after Exodus International shut down in 2013 due in part to the negative attention the episode brought to the organization.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Somehow manages to pull this off while still being an active show producing new episodes. The cable deal they have is... not great. As in, good luck finding the episodes online. Or on DVD. Or on OWN, unless you're watching the original airing. Reruns are scarce, despite it being one of OWN's highest-rated shows. Lisa's not happy about it either.
