- Killer App: This game and Monster Hunter Portable 3rd make up two of the five best-selling PSP games, as well as the best-selling PSP games by a Japanese company. Many longtime fans of the series will tell you that these games are the reasons to own a PSP.
- Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.":
- All monsters that kickstarted the second generation of the series appeared first in the Japan-exclusive Monster Hunter 2 (dos). Thus, it wasn't until Freedom 2 (which was released in the West) when players outside Japan could have a chance to hunt them. The exception is Yama Tsukami, which had debuted in Dos as well but didn't appear in the game; even then, the Updated Re-release Freedom Unite brought it back so international players can hunt it in G Rank.
- Hypnocatrice and Lavasioth make their international debuts in Freedom Unite, having first appeared in Frontier which was exclusive to Japan, South Korea, and China.
