- Distanced from Current Events: MacVeigh deliberately tried to avert this with the portrayal of the World Trade Center in the comic. Though he knew many people would look at it and immediately think of 9/11, he knew that since the comic was set in 1985 in New York, there was no way anyone could miss them. As such, he avoided making any references to the tragic event in the comic.
