• California Doubling: A mild example (though an inversion of the trope title). The movie is set entirely in a TV studio in California, but was filmed in Melbourne, Australia.
• Fake American: With the exception of David Dastmalchian and Michael Ironside ^note Born Canadian and now also a naturalised citizen of the US(who provides the narration at the beginning), the entire cast are Australians playing North Americans.
• Viral Marketing: IFC released an excerpt from a fictional program entitled "Monster Shock Theater with Martin Monster", featuring Dastmalchian doing an in-character interview as Jack Delroy.
