• Fake Nationality: The series had numerous non-Italians in its cast throughout its run, mostly French actors like Patricia Millardet (Silvia), since the series was co-produced with a French broadcaster. Later seasons also included several German actors, due to the series being co-produced with a German company.
  • Bulgarian actor Stefan Danailov was cast as Don Nuzzo in Season 7, after the producers learned about the series' popularity in Eastern Europe.
