• What Could Have Been: According to Dwayne McDuffie, DCAU veteran Paul Dini was originally going to write this episode, but had to pull out due to a hand injury. McDuffie (who was doing Static Shock at the time) was brought in by Rich Fogel (and on the strength of this teleplay, eventually ended up on the show full-time the following Season). Amusingly, McDuffie later parodied Suspiciously Specific Denial by insisting (on legal advice) that he was nowhere near Dini when this injury had happened.
