- Banned in China: Due to its graphic content, the film was banned for several years in the UK until a heavily censored cut was finally passed by the BBFC and released on home video by Vipco. It wasn't until 2003 that the film could be seen there in its uncut form.
- Follow the Leader: According to the director, the film was created primarily to capitalize on the success of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
- Money, Dear Boy: The director said his only motivation for making the movie was his paycheck.
