Trivia / Invader Zim S 1 E 23 Game Slave 2

• What Could Have Been: Invader Zim is one of the most infamous examples of Western cartoons to be plagued by this trope, but most of its episodes haven't suffered the misery of Executive Meddling as THIS one:
  • The console was originally going to be called Game Slave Advance, as an obvious play on Game Boy Advance, but Nintendo did not like the reference and threatened to sue Nickelodeon if it was used.
  • Iggins was supposed to have been Killed Off for Real at the end. Nickelodeon executives refused to portray on-screen deaths of children. This would explain the rather half-assed revival Iggins gets with a huge name drop.
  • Dib was supposed to have been turned into a rat person like Jhonen Vasquez wanted. Much like Bloody GIR, Jhonen still published concept art of what Dib would look like if he did go through a transformation into one of the Rat People.
