  • Jacob was originally on the football team instead of the hockey team, the turkey drop was originally a venison drop, and the bear attack was originally a wolf attack.
  • In the first draft there were two missing boys that Howl successfully saved, while in the final version he found Jacob after it was too late.
  • Early drafts of the Final had all five kids going into the woods and surviving, which the finalized version changed to just Peregrine, Eric, and Woodsley going in while Lexy and John Francis stay behind and organize a rescue party.
